Disraeli conta ter recebido um pequeno ensinamento de Lord Lyndhurst nos frustrantes tempos de espera por uma oportunidade de estreia no parlamento inglês (na sequência de três eleições falhadas): «Never defend yourself before a popular assembly, except by retorting the attack; the hearers, in the pleasure which the assault gives them, will forget the previous charge.»
Lyndhurst, (se nos lês aí no Inferno): é bom o conselho. Aqui na terra tem sido severamente testado e tem funcionado que é uma maravilha.
